Volunteers

The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre cannot function without volunteers. Indeed the indoor school facilities were erected in just 72 hours courtesey of the BBC's Challenge Anneka television series! Of course not all volunteers can operate on that scale and the Centre is grateful for any support, financial and/or practical that is offered.

All volunteers are trained and must complete the stable management course. All volunteers and staff must have a Criminal Record Bureau check.

Help is needed throughout the year with lessons, stable care, maintenance, gardening and various events.

The therapeutic value of being with horses cannot be underestimated and the opportunity so to do within an urban environment is a rare asset. There are opportunities to work towards nationally recognised qualifications or just to gain the pleasure and satisfaction of a job well done.
